Face Forward
Dr. David Alessi and his wife, businesswoman Deborah Alessi, have a mission: provide physical and emotional reconstruction for women and children victimized by domestic and gang-related violence, both of which have become epidemic. Every 15 seconds somewhere in the United States an act of domestic violence occurs, leaving 2.5 million victims each year to live forever with the physical and psychological effects of such abuse. Globally, at least one in three women has been physically abused. The scope of this problem is overwhelming, but the determined David and Deborah Alessi have vowed to provide victims with the best possible treatment pro bono; hence, the formation of their non-profit organization Face Forward, which works to complete their mission.
Dr. David Alessi is simply one of the best plastic surgeons in the world today, handling the most difficult cases with his ever-developing innovative techniques. Deborah Alessi is CEO of a high-end skincare line and the crusading CEO of Face Forward. Driven by their compassion for the battered victims of domestic violence, the Alessis have worked tirelessly to provide these victims with every type of rehabilitation possible.
The 2011 Face Forward Gala was held this year at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Actress Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo and Dr. CarolAnn Peterson were honored for their humanitarian efforts on behalf of the victims of domestic violence. Saundra, a victim of horrific domestic violence, and Louise Ashby, the victim of a terrible auto accident, shared their moving stories of reconstruction and rehabilitation, underscoring the invaluable services provided by Face Forward and the urgent need to support this organization.
Indeed, we as human beings must sustain Face Forward, because who else stands up for and assists the victims of domestic violence? Thank God for David and Deborah Alessi and Face Forward, and let us all contribute to their efforts in whatever way we can!
