SCIENCE OF BEAUTY
Cosmoprof India, a B2B event dedicated to the fast-growing Indian beauty sector, had its fourth edition from December 7 to 9, 2023, with over 450 companies/brands and exhibitors from 19 countries and regions of origin.
Cosmoprof India featured a multitude of new products from top finished product companies specialising in Cosmetics & Toiletries, Beauty Salon & SPA, Natural & Organic, Nail & Accessories, and Hair Salon. Cosmopack India demonstrated the most creative and cutting-edge supply chain solutions, from ingredients and raw materials to branded finished products, machinery, equipment, and packaging.
Over 450 companies and exhibitors from 19 countries and regions attended the B2B exhibition, which focused on the rapidly expanding Indian beauty sector. Over 9,000 stakeholders from 55 nations and regions converged at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, representing a 20% increase over the previous edition. India, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, Nepal, and South Korea have been the most well-represented nations.
The 4th edition of Cosmoprof India delivered impressive results. “We are excited about the success of Cosmoprof India”, states Mr. Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “For 3 incredible days, over 9,000 attendees from 55 countries ‐ suppliers, brands, retailers, distributors, and professionals ‐ had the chance to meet each other, explore the cutting‐edge trends and product launches, and get inspired by new tools and solutions. Year after year the exhibition in Mumbai is becoming one of the strategic rendezvous for stakeholders, and today we can proudly announce that the show is already one of the most renowned b2b events focusing on the fast‐growing Indian beauty industry. For this edition, we already registered an impressive increase in attendance from new companies, with a notable 28% increase compared to the previous year, as well as a highly positive percentage of international brands, +49% compared to last year”.
“The conjunction between Cosmopack India, with leading suppliers presenting their latest and most innovative solutions, and Cosmoprof India, with finished product brands launching their brand‐new collection, is appreciated by stakeholders”, continued Mr Zannini. “Thanks to the synergy with Informa Markets in India, our partners in the joint‐ venture, we will increase our efforts to make Cosmoprof India the best partner for new business opportunities in the region, thanks to our excellent match‐making tools, to our impressive insights and the unrivalled potential of the Cosmoprof international network”.
Speaking on the successful conclusion of the Cosmoprof India 2023, Mr Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India said, “The Cosmoprof India stands as the premier B2B platform gathering for the dynamically shifting beauty market, showcasing exhibitors nationwide. This season, our enthusiasm peaked as we unveiled the 4th Edition of Cosmoprof India on a more expansive scale. We proudly welcomed participation from over 450 companies and brands, spanning both local and international enterprises in the beauty and cosmetics sectors. Notably, Cosmoprof India witnessed a remarkable 20% growth in footfalls and an impressive increase of exhibitor participation by 44% as compared to last year. Cosmopack India, a salon dedicated to the beauty supply chain showing diverse array of international and domestic companies, covering everything from raw materials and laboratories to private label, contract manufacturing, and packaging.”
“As the Indian consumer landscape evolves, a decisive shift emerges, wherein consumers are more opinionated, aware, and focused. With Consumer Spending projected to surge to $296 billion (INR 23.7 lakh crores), India is on track to become the world’s third-largest consumer market by 2027. The per capita gross income of Indian consumers too is anticipated to rise by 138% in real terms from 2021 to 2040, expanding their disposable income and creating ample opportunities for beauty brands to deepen their presence in the Indian market. Despite this potential, the pipeline is still limited, with only 17-18 million out of 100 million women actively engaging with beauty products, highlighting a significant runway for further market share growth. In this transformative period, COSMOPROF India stands out as a pivotal partnering platform, reshaping the Indian cosmetics industry through collaboration, innovation, and a dedicated commitment to meeting the dynamic preferences of today’s consumers,” says Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets In India.

In a world where a profusion of men’s grooming products compete for space and attention, Bravado, a daring new handmade luxury brand, has created a new narrative with its emphasis on ‘impressing oneself’.
Bravado showcased their carefully chosen items at Cosmoprof India 2023 in Mumbai on December 7. The goal is to transform men’s grooming by stressing high-quality formulas, eco-friendly, cruelty-free ingredients, and fostering self-care that prioritizes personal well-being over seeking approval from others.
Bravado’s 23 product options, which are backed by scientific study, include R3 Night Cream with Japanese Spring Water Algae Extract and Oculux Under Eye Gel, which contains the South African herb Bulbine frutescens. The company’s other products include the unique Sans-Qua Waterless Facewash, Illuminate Face Serum, Artist Hair Pomade, Artist Crystal Hair Wax, and Face Sculpt Anti-Aging Cream. All of these products are devoid of hazardous chemicals and mineral oils, and they are made using special plant extracts sourced from across the world.
“Bravado goes beyond cosmetics; it is an attitude that insists on the best for oneself in an ethical way. The product range is both innovative and ingenious and delivers visible results. It was developed following an in-depth study of the unmet needs in men’s grooming and it confidently demonstrates what it claims,” said Sumit Gupta.
Elaborating on the concept that inspired the brand’s establishment, Gupta, who is as passionate about social welfare as he is about Mother Earth, stated that most corporations pay lip service to environmental concerns and are irresponsible about their carbon footprint. Furthermore, they are focused on impressing others.
“We, however, wanted to change that. As a luxury brand, Bravado’s green credentials remain unquestionable. Our commitment to the environment is reflected in the care and concern we have put into creating every aspect of our product including ethically sourced organic ingredients and packaging that is biodegradable, reusable, and refillable,” added Gupta.
