Sue Wong’s Villa Feliz: A Synergy of High Art and Luxury Living
Sue Wong’s VILLA FELIZ, a once in a life-time residence and property, is now available.
This is a property so unique, so distinctive, and so captivating in its design that it is both a residence and a life experience simultaneously! It is frankly inconceivable you will ever find a house so imaginatively, meticulously, and lovingly designed!
Legendary designer Sue Wong begins a new chapter of her creative life with SUE WONG Designer Estates. The SUE WONG signature is indelible and revealed in every artistic aspect of VILLA FELIZ, a 1928 Spanish Hacienda that she completely redesigned, down to the stunning period furnishings. There is an obvious correlation between the aesthetics of the Grande Dame, Sue Wong’s utterly magnificent and much celebrated residence The Cedars, and her Baby Sister, Villa Feliz. Every detail of Villa Feliz, from its wrought iron adornments to its intricate and exotic Talavera and Moroccan tiles, contributes to its value as both a domicile and a work of art; truly, this is an unparalleled paean of beauty, a structure collectible yet priceless.
Sue Wong strongly believes in the power of one’s environment and its ability to inspire, transform, and nurture its inhabitants. In that respect, Villa Feliz truly embodies her mantra of Beauty, Magic, and Transformation.
The focal point and spiritual center of the house is located on the far wall of the expansive, 1,500 square foot living room/ballroom: a majestic stained glass arch window. This 12 foot high arch for the ages features an enormous Tree of Life, a fabulous representation embodying Sue Wong’s original concept and drawings as interpreted by stained glass artist Dawna Miceli of James Thomas Stained and Leaded Glass. The Tree of Life is a creation never to be forgotten! Based on the sublime art of Viennese Secessionist painter Gustav Klimt, the arch window is imbued with numerous examples of esoteric mystical symbolism involving universal and Jungian spiritual systems.
The roots of the tree represent the inner world of the human psyche, which reaches down into the profound core of our innermost subterranean depths. The branches of the tree stretch to the utmost corners of the Universe, bearing the coils of the Infinite. The crystal beveled glass fruit represents the abundance of possibilities offered in the unfathomable, boundless Universe, which speaks as well to the unlimited vastness of our own human potential. This Tree of Life is indeed pure art expressed in stained glass and bespeaks humanity.
Flanking either side of the Tree of Life are the Eyes of Providence, or the All Seeing Eyes, which are the eyes of Truth, Knowledge and Wisdom. They are encased within the mystical pyramid, which represents the Creator, the Preserver, and the Destroyer.
Within the arch is a secret doorway which leads outside to an intimate Talavera- and Saltillo-tiled patio with an heroic fire pit, an area perfect for stargazing and champagne toasting. Nearby is a restful yet artistic fountain designed using Talavera tiles, displaying the characteristic Sue Wong style and flair, as does the cactus garden which surrounds the house and envelopes the residence in its beauty.
VILLA FELIZ is the first of many homes to come from SUE WONG Designer Estates. This is a rare chance to make one’s abode within a living canvas of art! With 6 bedrooms and 7 ½ baths, encompassing nearly 6200 ft.² on 1/3 of an acre, this masterpiece can be had as house only or fully furnished with one of a kind Andalusian/Moroccan/Art Decco treasures and furnishings.
